In 2021, the Bethlehem Municipality launched an ambitious campaign around sustainable mobility that sought to change the local community’s relationship to transport. With a growing number of private cars on the road in a very small city, congestion and pollution were at an all-time high. With support from the Paris Municipality, the Bethlehem Municipality commissioned Element Media to develop a free mobile app called Walk Bethlehem that would promote walking among its citizenry. The app allows users to count their steps, track their walking path, browse upcoming events in Bethlehem, receive daily tips on sustainable mobility and health, and also search and post ride shares. The app is available on both Android and iOS.
