Salesian Bakery opened in 1891 with the primary purpose of providing sustenance to the most vulnerable populations of Bethlehem. Today, the bakery continues this mission by selling their artisan bread to community members who are able to pay as a means to support their cause. When Salesian Bakery came to Element Media, they wanted to deviate from the social message they had relied on for years, and instead, focus on the quality and varieties of their bread. Aside from their mission to care for the poor, Salesian Bakery took great pride in the high caliber of their baked goods and were convinced they could attract new customers with a video that focused on that message. We decided to take a stop motion approach in order to create a light-hearted and fun video that tapped into the daily joys of breaking the daily bread. The video tantalized tastebuds by representing the ways in which people already used bread in the everyday.
